Samareh has just begun her journey with Big Fat Smile in her newly appointed role as the Director of Fun Club @ St Columbkille’s.
Fun Club @ St Columbkille’s is our newest out of school hour’s service in the Illawarra, opening its doors in February 2018.
With over seven years experience in primary education and teaching in bilingual schools, Samareh brings a wealth of experience to her new service.
Samareh never thought she would be the educator that she is today, but we are so glad she has joined the Big Fat Smile family.
“As a teenager, becoming a teacher or working with children was the last thing in my mind, and I wouldn’t have imagined in my wildest dreams that I would ever enjoy this.”
“After my first year of University, I got an offer to work and I’ve been hooked ever since. I cannot imagine myself doing anything else now,” she said.
What do you love about working in school-aged care?
Working with children, in general, is the most rewarding job in my opinion. School-aged children have so much potential in them and working with them makes our job both delicate and amazing. You can be that one person in the life of a child that defines their future or change their mind about what kind of person they want to become.
How do you feel your Fun Club integrates into your local community?
Being a brand new Fun Club in a beautiful community that is our school, I believe we have filled in a need for care at St Columbkille’s. I have parents who tell me how convenient it is to have out of hours school care available to their children. Especially the kindy children who don’t have travel on a bus to get quality care. (We also provide door-to-door supervised private bus transport to and from our feeder school at Corrimal Public School).

Our Fun Club Directors along with our educators are dedicated, committed and passionate about preparing kids for life beyond. We partner with you by offering before school, after school and school holidays care for your child.
