The experienced team of educators and teachers care for around 70 children aged 0-5, in our modern purpose-built facility that has three spacious rooms and a beautiful back yard. About the centre
With a homely, warm and friendly environment, the service is able to provide a wonderful space for the children to grow and thrive. Working alongside dedicated and experienced educators, the service values nature-based play outside, utilising local parks, playing fields and the community shopping centre. We are passionate about empowering the children to use their voice, work together and respect the ideas of others.
Meet the centre team
Our team consists of a close-knit group of passionate, experienced educators. Many of our educators are long term team members, with some having been with the service for over 12 years. Our Director and 2IC have a combined 45 years of experience and support educators in all aspects of the day.
We pride ourselves on forming beautiful relationships with each other and the children and families in our care. As well have having a team that supports each other, we also have the backing of an extensive and experienced management team. Our head office team is only a phone call away and regularly visits to ensure the service is receiving the support it needs.
Working at Woronora Heights Community Preschool we enjoy the opportunities we have to further our skills and experiences. Our trainees tend to stay on in the service, even going on to complete Diploma traineeships. A number of our educators are also completing the Bachelor of Early Childhood Teaching with the support of the Director who takes on a mentoring role for anyone who wishes to upskill. Within the broader organisation there is opportunity to progress in our careers, whether we wish to study or seek out other roles within Big Fat Smile.

Working with a supportive, expert team in the day-to-day running of our centres, our Early Childhood Educators play a critical role in shaping young minds. Passionate about providing for the care, education and wellbeing of every child in your room, youâll help create happy, healthy relationships between a child and the most important people in their lives.
Together with the children, their families and your team, youâll design and deliver colourful learning experiences that match a childâs interests and needs. Youâll work out how each child learns best, and be involved with planning and applying your unique programs, always reflecting and thinking about how we can improve. Building strong relationship with the families, youâll jointly set goals and keep them updated on the childrenâs progress against them.
Youâll bring fun, laughter and play to each day, but most importantly, youâll create magical moments for children to experiment and grow.

What you need to succeed
On top of a fun-loving attitude and big smile, the other things we look for in our early childhood educators:
- You hold an ACECQA approved qualification, or are working towards a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or a Bachelor of Education (Birth to 5 years) â if not â you are willing to work towards a qualification through a Traineeship with Big Fat Smile
- You hold a Cleared Valid for Paid Work, (WWCC) or are willing to get one
- Passion for creating better outcomes for local children, families and communities
- Commitment to making sure the children in your care are safe and healthy
- An advocate for ensuring all reasonable steps are taken to protect children from abuse or harm
