Peter is an experienced Chief Financial Officer who is passionate about working in purpose-driven organisations. As Goodstart’s Chief Financial Officer, he is an accomplished finance and commercial leader with extensive experience across health, aged care, retirement living, not-for-profit, financial services, engineering, construction, projects, mining and energy.

With expertise spanning finance, commercial operations, funding, procurement, IT, property, and governance, Peter has a proven track record of leading strategy, driving transformation and delivering operational excellence. He is recognised for building high-performing teams, leading organisations through complex change and applying deep financial expertise across both listed and privately held organisations. Most recently before Goodstart, Peter has led finance and corporate services across a distributed network of more than 400 locations, developing a deep understanding of large-scale, service-based operations. Nearly three years in, his strategic financial and risk leadership is playing a critical role in shaping a strong and sustainable future for the Goodstart Early Learning Group, supporting the organisation’s long-term growth and its mission to provide high-quality early learning to children and families across Australia.

Jeff brings more than 25 years’ experience in senior finance roles across not-for-profit, private and public sectors in Australia, New Zealand and the UK. He brings strategic experience having worked with, and held board roles, including a variety of non-executive director and audit and risk committee positions, across ASX listed and private companies as well as large not-for-profit organisations. This experience has developed the understanding and skills needed for the critical role of discipline, governance, accountability and transparency in the success of financially sustainable organisations.

• Gavin has extensive General Counsel and legal experience supporting organisations in the early childhood sector in meeting their legal and governance needs. Gavin also has experience in the areas of commercial property, franchising, dispute resolution and litigation.

Kim is a highly-regarded professional in early childhood education sector, with more than three decades of experience to her name. Kim has held a variety of senior management and executive positions in both local government and not-for-profit organisations including: CEO of a not for profit organisation providing high quality education and care to over 6000 children weekly. Kim is a strong advocate for children’s rights and is committed to the provision of best practice in early childhood education settings to ensure the best outcomes for children, families, and early childhood professionals are realised.

Myra oversees Goodstart’s social impact strategy, policy, measurement, research, Reconciliation and social inclusion programs and initiatives. Myra brings significant experience to BFS Children’s Services, as a driving force of social policy and reform that has helped transform and improve the quality of life of Australians including the National Disability Insurance Scheme, Paid Parental Leave and the National Quality Framework. She has been the senior social policy advisor to two Australian prime ministers and has worked across early childhood education and care, schools, community services and health policy at state and national levels. She is deeply committed to supporting those working closest with children and is a passionate believer in the power of early learning to transform children’s lives. Myra co-wrote Preschool – Two Years are Better Than One with Dr Stacey Fox at the Mitchell Institute which aimed to help compel Australia to pursue a national commitment to ensuring all three-year-olds have access to high-quality early childhood education by offering a second year of preschool. Myra’s career began teaching business and economics in the northern suburbs of Brisbane.

Kellie has a rich history in the early learning sector, bringing over thirty years of experience in various roles. Following on from her teaching experience, Kellie has worked extensively in operational management roles and held business development and quality assurance positions at both State and Federal Government levels. Kellie has a robust philosophical and pedagogical approach that focuses on strong relationships at the foundation of effective education and care. As a passionate advocate for children, Kellie brings a comprehensive understanding of the importance of quality practice in our services.

With extensive leadership experience across diverse industries, Marina brings a depth of expertise in driving organisational growth and transformation through its people. Having worked across both commercial and not-for-profit sectors – including early childhood education and care, higher education, vocational education, banking and finance, recruitment, and call centres – Marina is passionate about creating high-performing, inclusive workplaces. With a focus on change management, leadership and capability development, cultural transformation, and diversity and inclusion, Marina has a people-centred approach and is passionate about fostering cultures where individuals and organisations thrive.

Kaleena is an experienced health sector leader with three decades of experience across population health, community engagement, program development, and system reform. She has dedicated her career to improving health and wellbeing outcomes for communities through collaborative leadership and innovative service design.

Kaleena is a passionate advocate for child-centred and culturally responsive practice, with a strong commitment to equity and inclusion. Her experience volunteering in remote Aboriginal community schools continues to inform her work in creating community-led solutions that improve outcomes for children, families, and communities.
