From our Director Kylie Gal

As a director, I pride myself on establishing positive relationships with all families in supporting and assisting them in educating their children. I believe families know their child best and with collaboration with both children and families, we are able to achieve stronger learning outcomes for children. I have a strong passion for developing children for who they are and work to build their abilities to continue learning throughout their life.

At Dapto Community preschool, we in providing the highest quality of care and education, through strong relationship, engaging environments, opportunities and inclusion for all. Our experienced and highly trained educators aim to make our children feel safe, valued, and respected for their individual skills and abilities. We believe a rich play based learning environment builds their learning capacities and exposes them to real life experiences.

Our curriculum focuses on identifying children’s strengths, interests and emerging skills, and then use appropriate teaching strategies and learning spaces that provide opportunities to further their understand and skills.

We have a team of 15 educators who are here with passion to care for and share a love of learning with children.
Our educators are passionate about respecting children, listening to their voices, share insights and perspectives about each child and engage in shared decision- making with families. High quality care with a focus on relationships is a key focus for our team. We also just love having fun!

We provide a lovely indoor and outdoor space that enables children to have access to learning resources that are as diverse as the world around them. We implement a well-balanced program that is child-centred, combines opportunities for intentional teachings and learning through play experiences, whilst encouraging children to discover, create, explore and imagine.

We are located within the Dapto Ribbonwood centre and have access to the library and community events held within the premises. We have strong links within the community with the local health nurses, local schools, Careways and local shops. Our location allows us to make regular visits within the community. We often take a trip to the local post office, supermarket and mall events.

We work in partnership with the local school community transition to school program and support children/families in preparing for school the year before they are required to attend. In nurturing children’s social, emotional, physical, language, cognitive and independence skills, we are actively preparing them for school in our everyday practices.
