Kiama Downs Community Preschool
From our Director Melanie Rigby
I’m Melanie, the centre Director of Kiama Downs Community Preschool. I hold a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood and have been part of Big Fat Smile for almost 20 years. My time in the organisation has allowed me to grow and gain experience in multiple centres. I am proud to be back in my hometown to share my love for this beautiful community with our families and lead my team for the next generation of young Kiama members.
I believe the early years is an important time in the lives of children and I know we have a pivotal role to play the development of those in our care. All children deserve the right to quality early childhood education and I aim to lead a team that provides the best learning environment to allow the children to build on their strengths and interests to become confident, curious learners.
What Parents are Saying About Kiama Downs Community Preschool
“The teachers are amazing, the daily activities are educational and fun, the food provided is amazing and the venue is immaculate in both cleaning and set up of days learning.”
“I have been so impressed by the learning experiences offered and by the caring, dedicated educators. The director at our centre is also very impressive. She is an exceptional leader.”
“My son loves coming to school and always feels safe and secure playing with his friends and educators. I also feel safe and secure sending him there with all the beautiful educators doing an amazing job”
“My children (collectively) have been a part of KDCPS for over 6 years. The care they receive is second to none. My son currently attends the ELR room 5 days per week and has made the most beautiful relationships with the educators and with his peers. I would recommend this preschool over all others in the area and due to limits, we have been in more than 3 over the years. My best friend is currently pregnant with her first child and has her child on the waiting list for 2022 due to recommendations from myself and others in the community”
We have a large natural newly renovated outdoor yard which offers all the children a large open space that is full of beautiful play spaces, natural resources and interesting areas to explore and learn. We also have two open beautiful indoor play rooms for children aged 0-3 years and 3-5years.
