From our Director Vesna Neloska
My personal philosophy as an Early Childhood Educator and Director is to support families in their role as their child’s first teacher and work collaboratively together in developing positive relationship based on trust and respect. I believe the early years are a fundamental time for children’s rapid growth and development where the foundation is set for lifelong learning.
Our holistic approach to teaching and learning is sensitive to each child’s interests, strength and needs as all staff are committed in providing optimal opportunity for children to learn through the process of play and discovery, emergent exploration and natural social interaction.
As the centre Director I lead, support and empower my staff to be advocates within the early childhood field where we enrich the lives and minds of all children through a safe and supportive environment. Our dedication and devotion ensures that the unique qualities and attributes that each child, family and staff bring into the environment are integrally woven into our daily practices.
What Parents are Saying About Port Kembla Community Preschool
Our qualified, passionate educators take a holistic approach to teaching and learning and we have natural play areas outdoors to encourage exploration, sustainability and environmental wellbeing.
Our educational program is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework; ‘Belonging, Being and Becoming’ and we are committed to developing children’s awareness of the world around them. Through the creative arts and music, the children are involved in learning multicultural language and music from various cultures on a daily basis.
We have a transition to school program which promotes the development of both emotional and academic skills. We take annual excursions to our local public school as part of our transition to school program.
