From our Director Stacey Jones
I’m Stacey, Director of Shellharbour Early Learning and Care. I have an extensive knowledge of the industry supported by 17 years experience and a Bachelor of Teaching, Early Childhood. My experience includes teaching children 0-5 years in a range of spaces as well as Educational Leader which entails supporting the team and overseeing the development of the educational program offered in the service. I have also been the 2IC for many years assisting the Director in daily tasks and duties to ensure quality education and care is provided throughout the centre.
Having 2 children of my own I understand the importance of developing strong partnerships with families and the community. I believe that embedding family practices is fundamental within the centre as it helps educators to form strong and trusting partnerships with children and families.
As the centre director I lead my team at Shellharbour Early Learning and Care in advocating for the highest quality care and education of all children by providing a stimulating, nurturing and caring environment in partnership with families, the community and other professional to support the individual needs of the children. We implement child safe standards and practise to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children whilst in our care.
We believe the early years are a time of rapid growth and development. A positive start to learning, through an inclusive play-based, hands on program which builds on children’s individual strengths, interests and abilities, will set children up for lifelong learning. By providing the highest quality of education and care with strong values we promote and encourage inclusion and diversity as well as supporting all children and families within a nurturing and caring community environment.
What Parents are Saying About Shellharbour Early Learning and Care
Shellharbour Early Learning and Care is a safe space for living and learning where children are celebrated for their individuality and empowered to discover, explore and take the lead in their learning. Our interactions with children are focused on high quality educational outcomes and we believe in inclusion providing high quality childcare accessible to all children and families.
Our environments are inviting, engaging, age appropriate, thought provoking and challenging and represent our children, families and cultures.
In addition to our main outdoor area, we have an additional indoor/ outdoor area for each room which means children have 3 separate spaces with a range of varied learning experiences to engage with across the day. Even during those really hot days or wet weather, children are able to enjoy active play as each room includes Softfall flooring surfaces. The variety of areas allow for more intimate small group experiences across the day to optimise learning opportunities.
We offer a Transition to School program with connections to local schools to support children and families in a smooth transition to big school.
There is easy access to the centre through dedicated parking spots. Our central location means that the children can access the local library, child specific experiences in conjunction with Stockland and our local community garden to further extend on their learning through hands on experiences within our local community.
