From our Director Belinda McGranahan

At Warrawong Community Preschool we have an experienced team of educators who value quality education and care for all our children. We are an inclusive service, with a large number of children from diverse cultural backgrounds and children with additional needs supported in our care. We have two rooms, an Early Learning Room catering for our children 0-3 years and Preschool Room catering for 2-5 year olds. We have two outdoor play spaces with experiences intentionally planned catering to the ages and needs of the children in our care, with lots of natural materials and loose parts play, enabling all children many opportunities to explore and engage with their peers and educators. Our outdoor spaces include climbing/balancing, bush tucker gardens, large sandpit and mud play area including ‘mud’ kitchens, a fort and dry river rock beds. We provide for water play and for the children to look after their natural environment with us.

We have a cook who prepares all our meals from breakfast until late afternoon tea – ensuring that all children’s dietary needs are provided for. We engage the children in cooking experiences as well as a range of art/crafts, STEM and social play experiences (Including sunshine circles to support self-regulation skills).

We operate a transition to school program. As part of this program we connect with local schools to develop meaningful relationships and skills that will be required during the transition process.

What Parents are Saying About Warrawong Community Preschool

“The staff are amazing and make every effort to meet every child’s indivdiual needs. I have had all of my children attend this service over the past 8 years. I know my children are well looked after and are always learning essential skills for school and a love of learning in the future”

“My daughter has been going to BFS Warrawong since she was 5 months of age and is nearly 4. The staff are incredible and I couldn’t say a bad word about the teachers or the school in general. Very happy and always talk to friends and family about how amazing BFS is”

“Excellent staff. Great care of the children. High consistency and my child loves attending.”

“I have had 3 children attend Big Fat Smile centres for the past 9 years, I find the company and staff have great standards. My children have always been well cared for, the centre is open 6.30-6 which suits our family’s needs. They supply nappies and meals. My children love going to preschool and are always engaged in learning”

At Warrawong we are an inclusive service, with a large number of children from diverse cultural backgrounds and children with additional needs supported in our care. We have an Early Learning Room catering for our children 0-3 years, a preschool room catering for 3-5 year olds and the outdoor space is family grouping with all our children getting the opportunity to play together and share skills across age groups. This includes spaces with veggies and trees, large sandpit with ‘mud’ kitchen, worm farm and dry river rock bed. We have built in play equipment for the children to balance, climb and slide. We provide for water play and for the children to look after their natural environment with us.

We provide a ‘munch and move’ program and literacy program for all the children to be involved with each day in both rooms and also have a cook who prepares all our meals from breakfast until late afternoon tea – ensuring that all children’s dietary needs are provided for.

We operate a transition to school program. As part of this program we connect with local schools to develop meaningful relationships and skills that will be required during the transition process.

We are also working along with Kids Matter to support our children’s whole development including their mental health.
