Centre Director Jobs

Centre director roles at Big Fat Smile

Our Centre Directors play a critical role in shaping young minds. You’ll support and guide children’s learning and development, to give every child the best chance in life. Now that’s an important job.

Passionate about providing for the care, education and wellbeing of every child in your service, you’ll help create happy, healthy relationships between a child and the most important people in their lives. Supported by your Practice Manager and caring team, you’ll drive the day-to-day operations of your centre, upholding our high standards in providing top-quality education and care.

As the leader of your service, you’ll bring expert knowledge in the Early Years Learning Framework, child development and learning. And you’ll develop and mentor your team in curriculum, pedagogy and care.

It’s your important role to make sure we deliver a high-quality inclusive program to each child’s needs and interests. To support you, we’ve developed our Bespoke Educational Framework as a resource to guide practice and all areas of service operations, but you’ll also have the freedom to adapt your approaches.

Join us and you’ll be smiling too, when you make more of a difference in the lives of every child in our child-first organisation.

Meet one of our centre directors

Julie, Centre Director at Manooka Valley Community Preschool

“I specifically sought out employment with Big Fat Smile as I was inspired by the organisation’s ethical values, commitment to children, families, and community, and its reputation for supporting and encouraging educators to always upskill their knowledge through professional development and learning.

As a director, it is so empowering to have a network of support behind you from head office, with experts in safeguarding, compliance, and pedagogy. It is so valuable to be able to utilise their skills and expertise to improve the role I am able to do and the quality practices at my service.  I feel supported and constantly inspired by others in the organisation.

Recently our service obtained Exceeding in all seven quality areas which was a huge career highlight. I am exceptionally proud to work for an organisation that places a high emphasis on embedding quality in an authentic and genuine way through critical reflection and connections with families and communities.  We received valuable support from the organisation throughout the entire process and our team felt very recognised for our efforts.”
