Not all children at Rosehill Community Preschool will grow up to be doctors and nurses but this month, they will all be doing their part to help sick children get better as part of the 25th annual Bandaged Bear Appeal.

The Bandaged Bear Appeal is the major fundraising appeal for The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, helping to raise much-needed funds for the thousands of children and families who require care every year.

Today, Thursday 20th March 2014, Rosehill Community Preschool held a Teddy Bear’s Picnic with the centre donating to the Appeal. The day was filled with lots of fun activities including a teddy bear hospital for broken bears, facepainting and a visit from the Bandaged Bear himself.

Preschool Director Shereen Behman said “The Children were very excited about our visit from the Bandaged Bear.  This is a great way to introduce the concept of helping others to them and letting the families know about the appeal”.

Shelley Barlin, Education Liaison Officer from The Children’s Hospital at Westmead says, “It is so great to have the support of Rosehill Community Preschool for the Bandaged Bear Appeal. Community support is vital for The Children’s Hospital at Westmead’s fundraising efforts so the students and staff should be very proud of the difference that their hard work will make”.
