Big Fat Smile has announced the establishment of an International Cultural Exchange between Big Fat Smile in Australia and Yangzhou Ladder Education in China for early years education.

Big Fat Smile has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Yangzhou Ladder Education, the purpose of which is to establish an enduring partnership to facilitate cooperation, friendship and understanding for the advancement of shared cultural, educational and business interests.

Big Fat Smile Community Preschools Bingara Gorge, Western Suburbs and Woronora Heights (0-5) have been invited to establish Sister-School relationships with preschools from Yangzhou as part of the International Cultural Exchange.

Staff from each preschool will visit and work in their Sister-Preschools in China, sharing information on education systems, practices and culture, with the first exchanges taking place later this year.

CEO Bill Feld said, “This initiative is one in a series of actions designed to extend our cultural competence, embrace a larger cooperative agenda and to understand better the world in which we live.”

“We’re thrilled about the opportunities that the Sister-School exchange will bring to Early Years Educators here and in China, and the enriched cultural education that our educators will be able to provide.”

The Memorandum of Understanding includes:
Exchange of information on education systems, standards and practices.
Exchange of information on inclusive practices to support children with additional needs.
Exchange of information on culture, business practices and networks.
Establishment of sister-school relationships.
Conduct of study tours, exchanges and meetings to advance cooperation.
