Interested in seeing what it’s like working at Big Fat Smile? Are you interested in learning strategies around Protective Behaviour? Join us for an evening of professional learning, pizza and networking.

At Big Fat Smile, we’re never not learning. Or growing. It’s at the heart of everything we do. Here, you’ll have a front row seat to the latest research and thinking on early childhood education.

To kick off our face-to-face professional learning for 2023, we will be hosting Protective Behaviour Workshop for Educators.

At this workshop you will learn more about empowering children with body safety strategies and skills to keep them safe. You will have a platform to share your ideas and questions, whilst getting exposure to different practices and reflections across our services.

The workshop is presented by Jody Quinnell (Big Fat Smile Community & Family Project Coordinator) and René Perry (Big Fat Smile Child Protection Manager). Jody has twenty years’ experience working with children, young people, families. In this time she has held roles including Program Manager, Caseworker, Program Facilitator and Community Development Officer supporting her local community on the South Coast of NSW. René holds a Master of Social Work and Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) from University of Wollongong and has 18 years’ experience working in the child protection field.

This two-hour workshop is open for all educators – Big Fat Smile and beyond.
