We are proud to share that Barrack Heights Community Preschool has been named a finalist in the 2025 HESTA Early Childhood Education & Care Awards, in the category of Outstanding Service.

The HESTA Awards are among the most prestigious in Australia’s early childhood education and care sector. They shine a spotlight on educators, services, and leaders who go above and beyond to create positive outcomes for children, families, and communities. Being recognised as a finalist is a significant achievement, reflecting both the quality of our programs and the dedication of the people who deliver them.

At the heart of this recognition is Centre Director, Alicia Dellapina, along with the passionate team of teachers, educators, staff, and families who make Barrack Heights such a special place for children to feel safe to learn and grow. Their work demonstrates the power of relationships, secure attachments, and accessible education in shaping brighter futures, particularly in a community with unique vulnerabilities and strengths.

The winner will be announced at the Early Childhood Australia (ECA) Conference in Perth this October. Should we be fortunate enough to take home the award, we plan to invest the prize money into improving accessibility and supporting children’s transitions, ensuring that every child can thrive.

We are deeply grateful to our wider team including Practice Manager Jane Morgan, Head of Education, Blaise Johnson, our Education Support team, Client Engagement and Inclusion Support, whose efforts continue to uplift children and families every day.

Being recognised at this level is a reminder of the impact quality early education has not just on children, but on entire communities.
