On Tuesday 25 September 2018, Big Fat Smile’s Shellharbour Early Learning and Care Centre celebrated their first birthday with an official ceremony attended by our Board Chair, David Campbell, CEO Jenni Hutchins, staff, families, and local dignitaries.
Big Fat Smile opened the state-of-the-art Shellharbour Early Learning and Care Centre in October 2017 at Stockland Shellharbour Shopping Centre.
CEO, Jenni Hutchins spoke at the celebration saying it has been a successful first year for the centre which is a testament to the vision and values of the organisation – where relationships are developed between children, families, staff and the Shellharbour community.

“We couldn’t be prouder of the amazing early learning space, developed in partnership with the children and their families. The inviting space and the relationships with children, partnerships with families and our community connections have been a central focus in the development of the Shellharbour Early Learning and Care community.”
“The centre provides individualised quality care experiences for children and families at Big Fat Smile’s renowned high standard,” she said.
The centre was a response to community demand and growth in the Shellharbour region which was met with lots of interest from local families who toured the facility before October.
This centre is known for its combined large outdoor space for children of all ages and three customised learning environments designed to provide quality early learning and care programs for children aged 0-5 years of age.
