On Tuesday 24 November 2015, families and budding artists joined in celebrating the works completed by children at Artspace @ Big Fat Smile this year.

The Big Fat Artspace Show 2015 exhibits at The Gallery @ Big Fat Smile until 10 December, 2015. The exhibition highlights include an alfoil elephant, a life size robot, flying drawings, a salon style portraiture installation and some ‘living’ sculptures created by the under 5s. Artists that have inspired this exhibition include Thomas Gormley, Dean Millien, Maria Fernanda, Joseph Cornell and Frida Kahlo.

Artspace has grown to become the largest professional visual art school for kids in the region, providing cultural nutrition to over 150 children each school term and another 500 children every school holiday period.

The Artspace philosophy is simple. Real artists working alongside children. Innovative programming based on the work of modern and contemporary artists (with a few old masters thrown in for good measure). Basically, artists provide the inspiration and the context. The children do the rest!
